Ward holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Urban Land Economics from the University of Illinois, as well as a Juris Doctorate. He has also pursued graduate courses at the University of Southern California. As an Adjunct Professor of Finance and Law at the University of Illinois, Ward has been teaching upper-level courses in real estate for 20 years. In addition to his legal work, Ward is actively involved in various professional, civic, and charitable organizations. He is a member of the American Bar Foundation, the American College of Real Estate Lawyers, and the Illinois Bar Foundation. Ward has also served in leadership roles, including Chairman of the Illinois State Bar Association’s Real Estate Law Section Council. Outside of his legal practice, Ward enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, and tennis. Together with his wife, Diana, Ward is dedicated to tending to the trees on their 160 acres of reforested land near Mahomet. Their reforestation efforts have seen the planting of 50,000 trees. Ward F. McDonald and Diana are also active members of St. John the Divine Episcopal Church.
