About

Tina T Tran is a second-generation Vietnamese American lawyer in Chicago, Illinois, committed to providing accessible legal support to all backgrounds. Tina T. Tran, known as Ty to her close friends, is a passionate social justice advocate dedicated to offering affordable and affirming legal assistance to individuals from diverse backgrounds. She takes pride in helping her clients achieve a fresh start, whether it's through filing for Bankruptcy or through the Expungement and Sealing of criminal records. Growing up in the California Bay Area, Tina witnessed firsthand the disparities in access to the legal system based on economic and racial backgrounds. She pursued her undergraduate studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara, majoring in Philosophy and Spanish. Tina then earned her Juris Doctorate degree and Certificate in Advocacy from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. She is licensed to practice law in Illinois and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Upon moving to Chicago, Tina dedicated a year to teaching and running after-school programs for underprivileged African American students in the North Lawndale neighborhood. During law school, she was actively involved with Cabrini Green Legal Aid, assisting clients with Clemency petitions, Health Care Waivers, Expungements, and Sealing of criminal records. Tina has a strong background in Criminal Defense and has volunteered as an interpreter for Vietnamese-speaking Immigration clients. Before establishing Needle & Thread Law LLC, Tina worked as a Bankruptcy Lawyer in Joliet, Illinois, representing debtors in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 Bankruptcy cases.
