After earning a B.S. in Political Science in 2000, he furthered his education by obtaining his J.D. in 2003 from the T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond. Upon being admitted to the Virginia Bar in 2003, Steve Miyares began his legal career at the office of the Norfolk Public Defender. During his 8 years at the office, he gained valuable trial practice experience by defending a wide range of cases, from minor misdemeanors to serious violent felony offenses. In 2011, he joined forces with a colleague to establish the law office of Miyares and Knight, P.C., where he expanded his practice to include civil litigation. Since 2013, Steve Miyares has been working as a solo practitioner, focusing on building strong attorney-client relationships.
