Sean Timmons is a highly experienced lawyer in Houston, Texas, with a background in military law and insurance law.

Sean Timmons brings a wealth of experience to Tully Rinckey PLLC’s military law practice group, thanks to his years of service as an active-duty US Army Captain in the prestigious US Army Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) Corps. During his time at Fort Hood, Texas, the largest military installation in the world, from 2009 to 2013, Sean served as a Judge Advocate and gained valuable insights into the legal issues faced by service members. His background as an active-duty attorney in the Army JAG Corps and as a civilian military law attorney allows him to effectively represent service members in administrative and criminal proceedings.

Initially joining Tully Rinckey’s Albany, N.Y., office as a Senior Associate, Sean quickly rose through the ranks to become a Partner and eventually the Managing Partner of the firm’s Houston office. In his role as Managing Partner, Sean oversees all operations of the Houston office while focusing his practice on military law. He handles a wide range of cases, including Article 15s, letters of reprimand, courts-martial, and officer/enlisted separation proceedings. Additionally, Sean is well-versed in federal labor and employment law and provides representation for security clearance matters.

In addition to his work in military law, Sean is also a key member of the Houston office’s Insurance Law Practice. He assists clients with bad-faith litigation cases and handles first- and third-party coverage disputes involving various types of insurance policies, including CGL, business auto, commercial and residential property, and ERISA policies.
