Carpenter is the Managing Lawyer at the Salt Lake City office of Wilner & O’Reilly. He is a member of the Utah State Bar and the United States District Court for the District of Utah. With expertise in all areas of immigration law, Mr. Carpenter's current focus includes family-based immigration, employment-based cases, U-Visas, 601 waivers, and investment-based immigration cases. Prior to joining Wilner & O’Reilly, Mr. Carpenter worked at the immigration firm of Thomas and Jefferies, PLLC in Phoenix, Arizona, and also served at the Executive Office for Immigration Review in Eloy and Phoenix, Arizona. He has written numerous articles on immigration issues and regularly provides pro bono immigration services to indigent clients. Mr. Carpenter earned his bachelor’s degree in Spanish Translation from Brigham Young University. He then attended the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. During his time at law school, he was a member of the Law Journal and served as an associate editor. Currently, Mr. Carpenter serves as the Vice President of the Board of Directors for the Intermountain Relocation Council, a non-profit organization that assists businesses with employee relocation to and from the United States. Mr. Carpenter resides in Salt Lake City with his wife and two children.
