Lawyer Scott D. Lane is the managing partner of Lane & Lane, LLC, a well-known Chicago personal injury law office. This boutique family-managed firm focuses on cases involving medical and professional negligence, survivors of sexual abuse, product liability, motor vehicle accidents, and other areas related to catastrophic injury and wrongful death.
After graduating Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts from Southern Methodist University, Mr. Lane went on to earn his Juris Doctorate from Loyola University of Chicago School of Law in 1988.
In 2002, Lawyer Lane was recognized as a 40 Under 40 Lawyer to Watch in Illinois. He is a regular selection for Illinois Super Lawyer by Law & Politics and Chicago Magazine. Additionally, in 2014, he became a member of The National Trial Lawyers: Top 100. Lawyer Lane is also the co-director and primary instructor of the Illinois State Bar Association Trial Technique Institute and an adjunct professor at Loyola University of Chicago School of Law. He frequently lectures at civil litigation bar association seminars and coaches Loyola’s Trial Team.
Lawyer Lane is actively involved in various legal organizations, including the American College of Legal Medicine, the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, the International Society of Primerus, and the American Association for Justice (formerly known as “ATLA”).
When he is not in the courtroom or meeting with clients, Mr. Lane enjoys spending time with his wife of over twenty-five years, Nancy, and their two adult children. He also has a passion for writing articles, texts, and chapters on a wide range of civil litigation topics. Additionally, he serves as a contributing mediator to Lane’s Goldstein Trial Technique and Lane Medical Litigation Guide.
