Robert Stickney has had a distinguished career serving justice and his country, with experience as a State Lawyer, Assistant United States Lawyer, and criminal defense attorney. He has also served in the United States Navy, rising to the rank of Captain. Robert Stickney, a South Florida native, began his career after graduating from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Political Science. He then completed the Naval Reserve Officer Training Commission program and went on to law school at the University of Florida. After graduation, Stickney worked as an Assistant State Lawyer in Fort Myers, Florida, handling juvenile, misdemeanor, and felony cases. He prosecuted numerous trials and appeals, as well as extradition cases. He then transitioned to federal prosecution as an Assistant United States Lawyer in Tampa, FL, where he handled a variety of cases including international counterfeiting conspiracies, narcotics trafficking, and corruption cases. Stickney\s successful track record as an AUSA includes numerous jury trials and appeals, with notable cases involving threats against the President\s life and international counterfeiting conspiracies. He has also been recalled to active military duty in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, serving in critical roles such as Deputy Chief of International Law for United States Forces, Japan. In his private practice, Stickney focuses on federal and state criminal defense litigation, with a secondary emphasis on general civil litigation. He maintains an office in downtown Fort Lauderdale, conveniently located near federal and state courthouses in the area, allowing him to best serve his clients throughout the United States.
