Robert Gitelman is a highly experienced lawyer who specializes in Products Liability and Asbestos cases. Based in New York City, he has been a key member of the firm’s Environmental team, playing a crucial role in securing a $52 million settlement for contamination of municipal water suppliers with MTBE by petroleum refiners and retailers. In addition to his work on environmental cases, Mr. Gitelman has also been involved in the In Re: World Trade Center Disaster Site Litigation, which led to over $850 million in settlements for injuries sustained by rescue and recovery workers at Ground Zero from toxic contaminant exposures. Before pursuing a career in law, Robert Gitelman worked in various roles in the Environmental Health and Safety field. His experience includes conducting lead and asbestos surveys, overseeing environmental remediation at construction sites, and serving as the Director of Safety at New York Methodist Hospital. Mr. Gitelman holds a Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Brooklyn Law School. He also has a Master’s Degree in environmental technology from New York Institute of Technology and an undergraduate degree in physics from National T.G. Shevchenko University in Kiev, Ukraine. Fluent in Russian, he brings a unique perspective to his legal practice.
