Paul Stablein is a seasoned criminal defense attorney with extensive experience in both state and federal litigation and appeals. In June 1989, Paul Stablein was appointed as an assistant prosecuting attorney with the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office. During his time in this role, he successfully tried over 150 cases to verdict and specialized in prosecuting mid to upper level drug traffickers as a member of the office’s Special Narcotics Unit. In 1997, he was promoted to Chief of the Narcotics Unit, where he oversaw the work of four assistant prosecutors, presented large scale drug investigations to the Oakland County Citizen’s Grand Jury, and provided training to law enforcement personnel. In August 2000, Paul left public service to establish his own private practice, founding the Law Offices of Paul J. Stablein, PLLC. In 2003, he merged his practice with Todd Flood and Todd Lanctot, former Wayne County Assistant Prosecutors, to form Paul Stablein, PLLC. With offices in Wayne and Oakland Counties, the firm specializes in criminal defense litigation in both state and federal courts. Paul Stablein has appeared before all Circuit Courts in Southeast Michigan, as well as in Grand Traverse and Leelanau Counties. He has a robust appellate practice, having argued cases before the Michigan Court of Appeals and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati, Ohio. As a federal practitioner, he is admitted to practice in the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, the Northern District of Illinois, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
