Nika D. Gholston, a native of Alabama, graduated cum laude from Alabama A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2001. She then went on to receive her Juris Doctor from Cumberland School of Law, Samford University in 2005. During her time at Cumberland, Nika specialized in alternative dispute resolution techniques and was a member of the Cumberland National Mediation Team. The team achieved first place at the American Bar Association (ABA) National Mediation Competition in Los Angeles, CA in 2005. Nika also represented the United States at the Inaugural International Chamber of Commerce Mediation Competition in Paris, France.

Following law school, Nika joined the United States Department of Justice, Community Relations Service (CRS), as a Conciliation Specialist. In this role, she collaborated with government officials, school administrators, law enforcement officers, and influential community leaders to address local and national conflicts related to race, color, or national origin. Nika played a key role in monitoring the racial climate in communities across the Southeast and contributed significantly to the Annual Assessment of Racial Tension submitted to the United States Attorney General and Congress. She is specially trained in education mediation and currently serves as an IDEA mediator for the Alabama State Department of Education. Nika is also a certified Guardian ad Litem and appointed child and parent advocate in Montgomery County, Alabama.

Nika is a member of the Alabama and Georgia Bar Associations, with her practice focusing primarily on family and juvenile law cases. She has represented a diverse range of clients, from pro bono cases to high net worth individuals, in matters such as divorce, child custody and support, alimony, and equitable distribution.
