Hanson is a seasoned attorney with more than 10 years of experience in the legal profession. She graduated magna cum laude from Wheaton College in Massachusetts in 2000, majoring in Political Science. During her time at Wheaton College, she was a member of the prestigious Alpha Kappa Delta, International Sociological Honor Society. Following her undergraduate studies, Nicole went on to earn her law degree from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in 2003. Before joining her father\s law practice at Hanson & Hanson in 2011, Nicole served as a prosecutor in the Counties of Humboldt (2004-2006) and Placer (2006-2007). In her role as a prosecutor, she handled a wide range of cases, including serious and violent felonies, as well as misdemeanor cases for both adults and juveniles. Her responsibilities included overseeing bail hearings, preliminary hearings, Proposition 36/Drug Court, sentencing hearings, mentally disordered offenders, court trials, and jury trials. In addition to her work as a prosecutor, Nicole also worked as Staff Counsel for the California State Assembly Public Safety Committee from 2007 to 2011. In this role, she provided legal advice to members of the California State Assembly and Senate on pending legislation. She also collaborated with lobbyists to develop effective policy initiatives. Nicole\s practice experience extends to family law, including dissolution of marriage, custody and parenting time for unmarried couples, custody and support modifications and enforcement, third party custody, guardianships, and domestic violence cases.
