About

Learn about Nicolas Gutierrez, a dedicated lawyer in Birmingham, Alabama, who is passionate about helping others through the law. Nicolas Gutierrez always had a passion for becoming a lawyer, a desire that was influenced by his grandfathers. His maternal grandfather noticed his tendency to argue over every little point and encouraged this trait. On the other hand, his paternal grandfather emphasized the importance of providing help to others, which motivated Nicolas to pursue a career in law to assist those in need. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Nicolas grew up in Hoover, Alabama, where he established his Southern roots. He attended the University of Alabama, where he majored in Political Science with a minor in Spanish. Nicolas was honored with the Bo Cole scholarship and went on to earn his J.D. from Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law. During his time at law school, he was nominated for Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges and served on the Editorial Board of the American Journal of Trial Advocacy. Currently working as an associate attorney at Cory Watson, Nicolas specializes in motor vehicle litigation and serious personal injury claims. When asked about his favorite aspect of helping people through the law, Nicolas emphasizes the satisfaction of potentially providing peace of mind to his clients. He believes that a personal injury lawyer\s role in the community is to support individuals during challenging times and assure them that someone cares about resolving their issues. In addition to his legal practice, Nicolas remains actively involved with the Cumberland School of Law, particularly the Admission Office. During his free time, he enjoys spending quality time with his wife and family, watching Alabama Football or Real Madrid soccer, expanding his vinyl collection, and learning new languages. Despite living on different continents, Nicolas makes an effort to stay connected with his family in Chile, visiting them frequently.
