Originally from Washington state, Matt made the decision to move east to attend Cedarville University in Ohio. During his time at Cedarville, he was actively involved in campus life, running cross country and eventually being elected President of the Student Body in his senior year. He graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. Following a brief period working as an admissions counselor at Cedarville University, Matt pursued his legal education at the University of Cincinnati College of Law. He obtained his Juris Doctor degree in 2014 and during his time in law school, he served as a Notes & Comments Editor for the University of Cincinnati Law Review. Additionally, he gained practical experience as a legal intern for the Entrepreneurship and Community Development Clinic. One of the pivotal experiences that shaped Matt\s career was his time as a legal fellow at The Brandery, a prestigious startup accelerator for high-tech companies seeking venture capital funding. This opportunity ignited his passion for working with startups and entrepreneurs, a focus that continues to drive his legal practice today. Outside of his professional endeavors, Matt enjoys spending quality time with his wife and two daughters. He is an avid sports fan, particularly supporting his favorite team, the Portland Trail Blazers. In his free time, he indulges in reading history books and is a proud member of the "Root Beer Guys," a group known for their appreciation of root beer. Matt also dedicates his time to volunteering with the Entrepreneurship & Community Development Clinic in Cincinnati and mentoring local high school mock trial teams.
