About
Mary Kathryn Brown, a lawyer based in Austin, Texas, shares her journey of overcoming divorce and empowering clients in family law matters.
Several years ago, amidst my own divorce, a lawyer helped me reclaim my power. This experience inspired me to dedicate the next seven years to empowering others to stand up for themselves. During this time, I obtained my undergraduate degree from Concordia University and my Juris Doctorate from St. Mary’s University School of Law. I also interned, led The St. Mary’s Law Journal as the Executive Editor, and raised my two children. Following graduation, I joined Walters Gilbreath, PLLC, as a Law Clerk. Upon passing the bar exam, I was swiftly promoted to Associate Lawyer and have been practicing law ever since.
Having gone through a divorce myself, I deeply understand the significance of the moments my clients entrust me with. I strive to ensure that my clients feel empowered, heard, and equipped with the necessary tools to begin anew. Often, individuals possess the resources for a fresh start; they simply require guidance to utilize them effectively.
Family law matters may seem daunting, but I am living proof that taking those leaps can lead to the best decisions of your life. Years ago, I felt lost and directionless; today, I am a successful attorney at Walters Gilbreath, PLLC, an active member of the Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honors Society, and a mother of two in a loving and supportive marriage. When you are ready to embark on your journey, I will be here to support you every step of the way.
