Ms. Maria McIntyre, a native of Columbus, Ohio, was born in 1975. Growing up in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, she witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by immigrants in the United States. After graduating with honors from Texas Christian University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science, Ms. McIntyre went on to earn her Juris Doctor from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law in 2002.
Ms. McIntyre\s interest in immigration law was sparked at a young age, inspired by her mother\s journey to bring her siblings from Vietnam to the U.S. in the 1980s. In 2003, she began her career as a staff attorney at a non-profit organization dedicated to providing legal assistance to undocumented immigrants. Transitioning to private practice in 2004, Ms. McIntyre joined a prominent immigration firm in Dallas, where she quickly rose to the position of senior associate by 2005.
Throughout her career, Ms. McIntyre has become an expert in various aspects of U.S. immigration law. Her areas of expertise include deportation defense, family-based immigration, citizenship and naturalization, relief under the Violence Against Women\s Act (VAWA), nonimmigrant visas, and humanitarian relief obtained from Citizenship and Immigration Services (C.I.S.) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (I.C.E.). She has also provided federal court representation and served as an expert witness on immigration law for the State of Texas.
