During this time, he represented the Government of Guyana in both the High Court of Guyana and the Guyana Court of Appeal, gaining valuable experience in trial and appellate practice. In September 1986, Mahendra Mohanlal Ramgopal was admitted to practice as a Lawyer and Counsellor at Law in New York State. He further expanded his practice by gaining admission to the Southern and Eastern Districts Federal Courts in New York in 1987. Additionally, in 2002, he was admitted to practice before the U.S. Second Circuit Court of Appeals. From 1986 to 2013, Mahendra Mohanlal Ramgopal focused predominantly on criminal law in New York City, where he was a member of the Indigent Defense Panel. However, he also engaged in the general practice of law, including immigration, matrimonial, and real estate law. In 2013, he made the decision to relocate to Stuart, Florida, where he now primarily practices immigration law.
