Before transitioning to a career in law, Lisa was an accomplished journalist, earning awards for her reporting at The News Tribune. In 2005, she made the decision to shift her focus from reporting on issues to actively resolving them. Lisa attended the University of Washington School of Law in Seattle, graduating in 2008.
Lisa is actively involved in various legal organizations and community groups. She serves as a Trustee of the Tacoma-Pierce County Bar Association, sits on the Executive Committee of the WSBA’s Elder Law Section, and is a Trustee of Tacoma Arts Live. Additionally, Lisa is a member and former president of the Pierce County chapter of Washington Women Lawyers, as well as a member of the National and Washington Academies of Elder Law Lawyers, the Tacoma Estate Planning Council, and an engaged alum of Mills College. In recognition of her contributions, Lisa received the 2018 "Distinguished Service Award" from the Tacoma-Pierce County Bar Association.
Lisa is committed to pro bono work and was honored with the firm\s "Service Excellence Award" in 2014 for her efforts to promote pro bono initiatives in Pierce County. She and her family are active volunteers at The Humane Society for Tacoma and Pierce County. Lisa resides in Fircrest with her two daughters, cats, guinea pig, and a rotating group of foster kittens.
