About

Founding partner Leo Glickman has a long track record of holding the powerful accountable and fighting for progressive candidates and causes in New York. Leo Glickman, a prominent lawyer in New York, has built a reputation for his dedication to holding the powerful accountable and advocating for progressive causes. As the NY State Chair of Common Cause, he led legal efforts to compel the Republican-led New York State Senate to disclose their financial records. This landmark case, Weston vs. Sloan, resulted in a court decision that mandated the State Senate to make its taxpayer-funded budget transparent to the public. In addition to his work with Common Cause, Mr. Glickman is an experienced civil rights litigator, representing clients whose constitutional rights have been violated by law enforcement agencies. He also provides legal counsel to candidates running for Statewide and Citywide offices, as well as local legislative positions. Furthermore, he advises political action committees (PACs) on navigating the complex landscape of election and campaign finance laws at the local, state, and federal levels. Before co-founding Stoll, Glickman & Bellina, Mr. Glickman served as Counsel to Manhattan Borough President C. Virginia Fields. In this role, he developed civil rights policies, authored reports on discrimination in industries such as taxis, and played a key role in the Borough President's responses to high-profile cases involving police shootings. Notably, he drafted legislation to protect the privacy rights of juvenile offenders in response to a controversial decision by Mayor Giuliani. Prior to his work with the Borough President's office, Mr. Glickman led a division of the New York City Campaign Finance Board (CFB), where he trained candidates on compliance with campaign finance laws and maximizing public funding for their campaigns. His extensive experience with campaign finance law enables him to effectively advise and advocate for clients before regulatory bodies such as the Campaign Finance Board, Board of Elections, the Federal Election Commission, and the courts. Leo Glickman's commitment to accountability, civil rights, and progressive causes has made him a respected figure in the legal community in New York. His track record of success in high-profile cases and his dedication to advocating for marginalized communities have solidified his reputation as a formidable advocate for justice and equality.
