During this period, Lawrence handled over 50 securitized loans with Lehman Brothers, Bear Stearns, Prudential, and Bank of America. His reputation for excellence in real estate law continued to grow, and from 2005 to 2007, Larry served as a partner at the West Hartford firm of Kroll, McNamara, Evans & Delehanty, LLP. Here, he represented major financial institutions like Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, and Citigroup in their CMBS and transitional mortgage loan programs. Since 2008, Lawrence E. Merlin has operated his own practice, focusing on representing private REITS and institutional clients in a wide range of commercial real estate transactions. His deep understanding of CMBS has made him a sought-after expert in providing New York and substantive non-consolidation opinion letters for various high-value deals. In recent years, Larry has provided opinion letters for deals ranging from $3 million to $270 million to top financial institutions such as AXA, Barclays, Bank of America, and Goldman Sachs.
