For a contested divorce or custody case the initial retainer is typically around $7,500, this is adjusted based on the specific circumstances of your case. I charge $375/hour and you will be billed monthly only for the work completed and that money earned will be removed from the retainer in escrow and placed into my account. The money held in escrow is fully refundable at any time and certainly refunded if unused, for example, if the case settles.
