Growing up as a Navy brat, Kaitie spent her early years living in native villages and on reservations, including nearly seven years in Point Barrow, Alaska, before settling in Georgia. She pursued her passion for law after earning her undergraduate degree in English Literature from the University of Georgia and obtaining her law degree from Mercer University. During her time in law school, Kaitie was actively involved in various student organizations, including the Association for Women Law Students, the Student Bar Association, the International Law Students Association, and Project Equality (now known as Mercer OutLaw), the LGBT+ representative organization. Her dedication to serving others led her to intern with Georgia Legal Services, where she provided legal assistance to indigent clients in Macon and through the MedLaw medical legal partnership with Navicent Hospital. After becoming licensed to practice law, Kaitie worked as an Associate to the Special Assistant Lawyer General in Gilmer, Pickens, and Bartow counties at The Law Office of Patricia King. In this role, she represented the Georgia Department of Human Services through the Division of Family and Children Services, focusing primarily on cases in Bartow County. Currently, Kaitie is a part of The Manely Firm, where she is expanding her practice areas to include international and domestic family law while pursuing further studies in Health Law and Policy at Hofstra University online. With a background in a large and blended family, Kaitie understands the importance of family in all its diverse forms.
