Before co-founding Daly & Black, P.C. with his longtime friend Rick Daly, John served as a legal intern to Justice James A. Baker of the Supreme Court of Texas in 1998. He then worked at Gibbs & Bruns LLP, a renowned commercial litigation boutique, from 1999 to 2009, eventually becoming a partner in 2005. Fluent in both English and Spanish, John has strong ties to Mexico, where much of his family resides. In 2009, John left Gibbs & Bruns L.L.P. to establish Reynolds, Frizzell, Black, Doyle, Allen & Oldham, L.L.P. During his time there, he and his partner Jean C. Frizzell secured the 12th largest verdict in Texas for 2010, ranking first in corporate verdicts, and the top Texas civil practice verdict for the same year.
