Growing up in Koreatown, near downtown Los Angeles, I was inspired by my mother, who immigrated to the United States from El Salvador, to pursue the American Dream through education and helping others, especially fellow immigrants. My journey in the legal field began when I enrolled in the Law and Government Magnet Program at James Monroe High School. I furthered my education at California State University, Northridge, where I earned a B.A. in History. Continuing my academic pursuits, I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Thomas Jefferson School of Law, focusing on criminal law. During my time at law school, I gained valuable experience through internships at the San Diego Public Defender\s Office and a judicial externship at the California Court of Appeal. These experiences honed my skills in representing clients in criminal cases, both in juvenile court and at the state and federal levels. After obtaining my license to practice law in California, I worked at a personal injury law office, advocating for clients to receive fair compensation for their injuries. This experience taught me the importance of standing up against big insurance companies that often deny legitimate claims, leaving victims with nothing. In April 2015, I took a leap of faith and opened my own law office in downtown Los Angeles.
