Jay P. Mykytiuk is a seasoned trial lawyer with a diverse background in criminal defense and immigration law. Born and raised in New England, Mr. Mykytiuk has represented hundreds of clients in state and federal courts in Washington, D.C. and Northern Virginia. After gaining valuable experience in both public and private practice, he launched his own solo practice, JPMLegal, in 2014.

Jay P. Mykytiuk is a thoughtful and experienced trial lawyer based in Washington, D.C. His legal career has taken him from monitoring police department practices with the United States Department of Justice to representing indigent defendants with the Arlington County Public Defender’s Office.

Born and raised in New England, Mr. Mykytiuk attended college in Connecticut before moving to Washington, D.C. in 1996. During law school, he clerked with both The Cochran Firm and the Los Angeles County District Lawyer’s Office, gaining valuable insights into the criminal justice system.

Mr. Mykytiuk has represented clients charged with criminal and traffic offenses in both state and federal courts. His experience at the Arlington County Public Defender’s Office provided him with rigorous training in criminal trial defense, handling cases ranging from DUIs to serious felonies such as robberies and drug conspiracies.

After transitioning to private practice with Regan Associates, Chartered, Mr. Mykytiuk expanded his expertise to immigration matters. He has helped clients navigate the complexities of immigration law, assisting them in obtaining green cards, citizenship, and fighting removal actions.

In 2014, Mr. Mykytiuk launched his solo practice, JPMLegal, where he continues to represent clients in Northern Virginia and the District of Columbia in a variety of legal matters, including traffic violations, criminal defense, and immigration issues.
