Erin Shinn, a dedicated criminal defense lawyer based in Austin, Texas, has been serving clients in the state since 2007. Originally from Lubbock, Texas, Erin graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of General Studies from Texas Tech University in 2004. She then went on to earn her law degree from the Texas Tech University School of Law in 2007, where she honed her trial and advocacy skills as a member of the Board of Barristers. Erin's journey to becoming a criminal defense lawyer took a turn when she got involved with a legal clinic through the West Texas Innocence Project. Working on post-conviction cases for individuals who were wrongfully convicted sparked a passion in Erin to dedicate her career to defending those accused of crimes. She was admitted to the Texas Bar in November of 2007 and began her career as a public defender for Kaufman County, Texas, where she eventually served as First Assistant. Erin's law practice focuses on handling both State misdemeanor and felony cases, ranging from petty theft to 1st degree drug possession offenses, from arrest to jury trial. In 2010, Erin moved to Austin to work for another defense attorney before deciding to open her own practice in 2011. At the Law Office of Erin Shinn, Erin personally handles each case and tailors each client's defense to their individual situation. Outside of her legal practice, Erin enjoys spending time with her husband Rahul and their two children, jogging at Lady Bird Lake, playing volleyball at Zilker Park, and exploring new restaurants in Austin. She is dedicated to zealously defending all of her clients against criminal accusations and upholding the protection of their rights, always prepared for trial!
