After serving a seven-year tour of duty in the military, Elroy pursued a bachelor\s degree in criminal justice from Florida Atlantic University. His passion for helping others led him to work as an advocate for children and families at a foster care and adoption agency in Broward County, FL. Elroy\s commitment to serving his community caught the attention of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, who recruited him to manage a $1 million-dollar grant program. Over the course of three years, Elroy assisted veterans struggling with alcoholism, PTSD, and other challenges in stabilizing their lives and finding affordable housing. His efforts were so successful that the grant was renewed for another three-year term. Continuing his education, Elroy graduated from Florida International University\s College of Law, earning his law degree through the school\s evening program while working full-time.
