About
Elizabeth Franklin-Best is a highly experienced attorney specializing in criminal appellate law and federal criminal law. With a background in public defense and appellate work, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her practice.
My name is Elizabeth Franklin-Best and I am an attorney who focuses on criminal appellate law and federal criminal law. I started at the Richland County Public Defender’s office where I worked alongside some of the most passionate lawyers in this profession.
Later, I worked at the South Carolina Commission on Indigent Defense, Appellate Division where I studied and analyzed hundreds of different cases, and gained valuable experience arguing in the South Carolina Supreme Court and the Court of Appeals.
I spent 7 years as a partner in the law office of Blume Franklin-Best & Young, LLC focused on capital post-conviction and appellate work. I’m licensed in New York, South Carolina, South Carolina District Court, the Second, Fourth, Fifth and Eleventh Circuits of Appeal, and the United States Supreme Court.
These days, I’m in private practice and I handle state and federal criminal appeals, including federal habeas and white collar crime. I am the owner of Elizabeth Franklin-Best, P.C. and am the Chairperson on the Board of Directors for Justice 360. I am also a Vice-Chair on the Amicus Committee for the Fourth Circuit for the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
My firm is committed to the highest level of professionalism and excellence.
