Learn about Craig E. Yaris\ extensive legal career and expertise in franchise law, business practice, and conflict resolution. My legal career began in high school, where I interned at the Lawyer General’s Office in Nassau County, New York. I worked in their Consumer Frauds Bureau, where I was the sole intern responsible for resolving consumer complaints. During my time there, I successfully closed more cases than any previous intern. After completing law school at New England Law – Boston, including an internship at the Lawyer General\s office in Massachusetts, I started my career at the Queens County District Lawyer’s Office. I spent over a year in the Domestic Violence Division, advocating for abused women and children. I was later promoted to Criminal Court, where I handled various felony cases. Following my time at the DA’s Office, I transitioned to a franchised company as Vice President and Chief Counsel. In this role, I negotiated leases, resolved employment disputes, and managed all contract negotiations. I also oversaw the company\s trademark filings and handled matters related to the Franchise Uniform Franchise Offering Circular (UFOC). After five years, I was promoted to COO and successfully expanded the company from 50 to nearly 100 locations across five states. After the company was sold, I brought my legal expertise to Literacy Builders, an educational consulting firm. I was responsible for contract negotiations nationwide, including with large school districts. I am excited to announce that as of June 1, 2020, I have joined the Parlatore Law Group, LLP as a Partner in their New York Office. My primary focus will be on franchise law, general business practice, and conflict resolution/mediation. As a cloud-based firm, I am able to work remotely from Florida.
