Mr. Bryan J. Yarnell is a distinguished lawyer who has been admitted to the Florida Bar, Texas Bar, all Florida and Texas Federal District Courts, and the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit. His impressive educational background includes a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Louisiana Tech University, where he graduated summa cum laude in 1987. Following his service in the U.S. Navy, Mr. Yarnell attended Harvard Law School and earned his juris doctor degree with cum laude honors in 1996.
Throughout his career, Mr. Yarnell has conducted over a dozen trials and hundreds of hearings as sole or lead counsel. He has litigated cases not only in the State of Florida but also in Utah, California, Texas, and New York. Mr. Yarnell has also first chaired numerous appellate cases, with three of them setting precedent in Florida and the U.S. 11th Circuit.
One of Mr. Yarnell's notable cases includes Ullrich v Welt, 810 F.3d 781 (11th Cir. 2015), where it was held that an Assignee in an Assignment for the Benefit of Creditors (“ABC”) is not authorized to file bankruptcy. Additionally, Saadeh v Connors, 166 So.3d 959 (Fla. 4th DCA 2014), established that a Ward may sue a tortious guardian’s attorney for malpractice. Another significant case, Jasser v Saadeh, 97 So.3d 241 (Fla. 4th DCA 2012), determined that a trust entered into by a ward is void from inception if the trust is executed after a guardian is appointed with the Ward’s right to contract removed.
In addition to his legal career, Mr. Yarnell has proudly served his country in three branches of the military. He was enlisted in the US Air Force Reserve as an Avionics Inertial and Radar Navigation Systems Specialist, served in the Louisiana Army National Guard as an Electrician, and was an Officer in the US Navy, where he instructed Nuclear Physics at the Navy Nuclear Power School in Orlando, Florida.
