Tom Shea is a highly experienced family law attorney based in Lake Charles, Louisiana. With a passion for helping individuals navigate difficult family law issues, Tom founded Tom Shea Family Law, LLC in 2017. His practice is exclusively focused on family law matters, including divorce, community property, child custody, child support, spousal support, relocations, modifications, contempt, and other enforcement actions.

Tom has successfully handled numerous family law cases at the district court level and has litigated cases at both the Third Circuit Court of Appeal and the Louisiana Supreme Court. He primarily practices in Calcasieu Parish and its surrounding areas, such as Beauregard, Cameron, and Jefferson Davis.

Originally from Northampton, Massachusetts, Tom attended Ithaca College, where he studied business and writing. Graduating summa cum laude and as Valedictorian from the School of Business in 2006, Tom then pursued a law degree at LSU Law School in Baton Rouge. During his time at LSU Law, Tom co-founded the International Law Society, worked as a publications intern at the LSU Press, and was involved in writing and editing LSU Law’s annual “Assault and Flattery” comedy show.

After graduating from law school in 2010, Tom moved to Lake Charles and began working as an associate attorney at The Sanchez Law Office. He is an active member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and the Southwest Louisiana Bar Association, where he has held leadership positions, including President of the SWLA Bar Association Family Law Section and treasurer of the SWLA Bar Association Young Lawyers Section.

In addition to his legal practice, Tom is currently pursuing an LLM in Taxation through the Graduate Tax Program at Villanova University. With his dedication to his clients and his commitment to the legal profession, Tom Shea is a trusted advocate for individuals facing family law challenges in Southwest Louisiana.
