About
Ariel Winger is a dedicated family law attorney in Oakland, California, with a strong background in advocating for survivors of domestic violence and their children. She offers amicable divorce options and works with diverse clients, including LGBTQ couples and unmarried parents. Before starting my family law practice, I worked for 5 years at a non-profit, where I successfully litigated in court on behalf of survivors of domestic violence and their children. I obtained Temporary and Permanent Restraining Orders, Child Visitation and Custody Orders, as well as Child Support. Since 2007, I have offered amicable, uncontested divorce and separation options for those who want to stay out of court, including high conflict and complex cases involving domestic violence, substance abuse, and mental illness. I provide services as a Mediator (neutral third party), Collaborative Divorce attorney (using a team approach), and as a non-adversarial attorney in Settlement Negotiations, as well as Legal Advising and Coaching, all designed to result in a mutually agreeable settlement for both parties. I work with Same-Sex and Opposite-Sex couples and Unmarried Parents in obtaining Dissolution of Marriage, Dissolution of Registered Domestic Partnerships, and Judgments of Paternity. I am culturally competent, trauma-informed, anti-racist, and provide compassionate and non-judgmental services for all races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, gender identities, and socio-economic statuses. I have extensive experience working with LGBTQ couples and those in poly relationships.
